About me
Working with children throughout my adult life has inspired me to develop a deep passion for recognising children who are struggling and the desire to support these children in meeting their emotional needs. Most often children will use play or art as a metaphor to help them express themselves more easily: to allow them to deal with memories or worries from the past; to empower them to develop understanding, self-esteem and new coping skills in the present in order to promote healing for their future. This is the story behind my creating Pathways Play Therapy.
Therapy services
At Pathways, we offer one-to-one therapy, enabling children to communicate and construct the play in their chosen way. This approach facilitates self-expression, builds self-confidence, and supports children in managing their emotions and behaviours more effectively. Our considered, tailored approach provides a safe space for healing and growth. Please feel free to ask any questions or to check availability through the email link below.
On hand to help
Being a child therapist means providing personalised support for each child's unique needs. We expect there to be specific and individual starting points; some children struggle with feeling different to others, some have difficulties at school, others suffer persistent anxiety or anger while many have experienced trauma. We provide a safe environment for each individual to express themselves and work towards healing. I feel privileged to be able to support children in this way with Pathways Play Therapy.
Every child is welcome
At Pathways Play Therapy, any child can be referred for therapy sessions. Referrals are considered together by liaison with the key people in the child's life to promote understanding of the child's key needs and to fully support their healing journey, whatever path that may take. When therapy is considered appropriate, it will be agreed by the clinical supervisory body and therapy sessions commence quickly.
